There are a few reasons that you might have
trouble with a certificate's link. The most common is that you might have Pogo's
email "profanity filter" on, and the first part of the certificate link
will be filtered out. Pogo's mail filter assumes anything that begins with
http://www. is either spam or advertising. The second most common is that
there is a space somewhere in the link. The link should be one continuous line.
A Gift Certificate code with the "Profanity Filter" on ... will
look similar to this:
http://&*@+^^+!=*$@/action/pogop/codeclaim/codeclaim.do?site=pogo&type=giftSubs&valcode=XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
An actual Gift Certificate code should look similar to this:
http://www.pogo.com/action/pogop/codeclaim/codeclaim.do?site=pogo&type=giftSubs&valcode=XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
The 20 (twenty) X's after the =
sign at the end would be the actual code in random letters and numbers.
If your certificate code looks like the first one shown above, do not delete it.
Just temporarily turn off your "Profanity Filter" and re-open the message.
The random symbols should change back to their original format and you can now
copy and paste the link to your browser's address bar. When you get to the "Enter
Code" page, just make sure that your Pogo name shows in the greeting
where it says "Hello" (see the "enter your code"
page image below). After redeeming the certificate you can go back into your Pogo
mail and turn the profanity filter back on if you want.
 |
In your Pogo mail folder, click on "Preferences" in
the column on the left of the page.
|

Then make sure this box is not checked.
|
If copying and pasting the entire link does not work for you, try
the following:
You will need to copy and paste those last 20 digits of your certificate number
into this
page and click the "OK!" button.
If you are not able to copy and paste, you may also type it in. Just make sure
it is exactly the same.

If Pogo has changed the link to the above page, please let us know by
Also make sure the page's greeting is in the name of the account that you want
to apply the free year to. If your pogo name is not in the greeting
where it says "Hello", you will have to go to Pogo.com
and log in to your own account before you redeem the certificate.
The certificate can only be redeemed ONCE, so do not give these numbers to anyone
else. And again, make sure your name shows in the greeting.
We are not able to replace lost or stolen certificates as there is no way for
us to know if a particular certificate has been redeemed or not. We are not affiliated
with Pogo.com or Electronic Arts and therefore are unable to track gift certificates.
